Summer Calendar 2010

Friday, August 6^th Peace Celebration and Ice Cream Social

7-8:30 PM. On the anniversary of the Bombing of Hiroshima join us for
peace activities and a prayer service around the Peace Pole in front of
the Church. An ice cream social will follow.

Monday. August 9- Wednesday August 11^th H.I.P.
Help Increase the Peace 3 day workshop (9:00 AM-4:00 PM)

Come and learn how to reduce conflict, build relationships, and
communicate effectively to increase peace and reduce violence in your
life, your family, your school your neighborhood, your world! The Sr.
Karen Klimczak Center for Nonviolence will present this life-changing
experience. Cost: $15/person which includes lunch each day.

Saturday, August 14^th City Youth Mass & Cookout at
St. Martin de Porres

Depart St. Joe’s at 5:30 and return at 9 PM

Tuesday, August 17^th Weinberg Nursing Home Visit

Depart St. Joes @2:30 PM - Return at 5:00 PM

Come and play musical instruments, sing or visit and play games
with the residents. Spend a morning making a difference!

Wednesday, August 25^th Cave of the Winds and
Maid of The Mist in Niagara Falls

Experience the power of the Falls! Depart St. Joe’s at 11:00 AM
Return at 5:30 PM. Cost: $25. We’ll start the day with a picnic lunch
on Goat Island. (Bring a bag lunch) Then we’ll ride the Maid of the
Mist and walk the Cave of the Winds. Sign up by Friday August 20^th.

Saturday, August 28^thParish Garage Sale –
Youth Ministry Table

Come help us under the tents at the youth ministry table. Proceeds
will benefit the youth ministry program and sponsor a young man
in Kenya for his school.

Sunday, August 29^thPack the Truck with Nicaragua Donations

After all the Masses on Sunday. Help us pack the truck of donations
from St. Joe’s to send to Ann Marie Zon’s Mission in Nicaragua.

Tuesday, August 31^st Box Packing for Nicaragua

Depart St. Joes @ 8:30 AM- Return at 12:30 PM. Come help pack
boxes of donations to the Nicaragua box project. Lunch is included!

Thursday, September 2 Vive la Casa Service Morning

Depart St. Joe’s @ 9:30 AM. Return @ 12:30 PM

Come and play with refugee children and help clean the playroom.

Thursday, Aug. 19^th	Drive-In Movie @ Transit Drive In
	Cost: $8 Depart St. Joe’s at 6:30 PM. Bring a lawn chair and a snack to share. Families are welcome to drive and bring the whole family. Please note: If a suitable movie is not playing on this date, we will have an alternate activity at the parish.
